JJ is a Mental Health Counselor who enjoys teaching others about the impact of mental health within daily activities. They graduated from Bay Path University in 2022 with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a minor in Small Business Development. After graduating JJ decided to obtain their master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The College of St. Rose until their closing in 2024, and will graduate from SUNY New Paltz in the spring of 2025.
JJ is passionate about helping the next generation understand mental health support networks, coping skills, and family systems, as well as understanding life decisions that may play into one's mental health and growing identity. Additionally, JJ has worked in a residential setting for just under 2 years, working alongside a therapist team as a Residential Counselor with a population of 12-18 year old teenage girls. JJ also has a strong understanding of individual care as she was part of her own grandmother’s hospice team up until her grandmother's passing last year.
JJ believes everything coming into our lives is part of the individual story we develop into our identities. Their goal with clients is to hold space for growth and expand understanding of self so that clients identify new ways to tell their story in empowering, passionate, and promotive ways.
The story of who you are, what has led you to your decisions, and how you have learned from them will be a main focus of our work together
